Flower Fund

The Celebrity Flower Fund provides flowers for the graves of Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, and other co-stars who are no longer with us. Different chapters of the Sons of the Desert have "adopted" graves, which they provide flowers for.

What Does the Fund Provide For?

The Celebrity Flower Fund provides quality flower arrangements for the graves of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, and many of their co-stars on their birthdays, the anniversaries of their deaths, and on Memorial Day. Photos of Stan Laurel's grave and Oliver Hardy's grave can be found on our locations page.

As of the July 2000 International Convention, the Way Out West tent has organized an adopt-a-grave program, in which individuals and tents have donated $100 annually to cover the cost of placing flowers on the grave of a celebrity which they personally sponsor. Because many of these graves are in Southern California, our tent collects the funds and then arranges to have the flowers delivered on the appropriate date. If your tent directly takes care of a celebrity in your area, please let us know.
