The Saps Proudly Present: From Silent To Sound Night! Plus: Bob Wright's rare Stan Laurel Home Movies!

It was 80 years ago this year that the world first heard Stan & Ollie speak! The Saps at Sea Tent celebrates this event of titanic proportions! We will first screen a transitional short, WRONG AGAIN. In this rib tickler, Stan and Ollie hear that the famous Blue Boy has been stolen! Not knowing that Blue Boy is in fact a painting, the boys think it is the horse they are tending that is the real deal! What happens next has to be seen to be believed. This short will be screened with the original Vitaphone soundtrack that features custom music and sound effects that were created for this silent film when sound was the new rage. Next, their very first All-talking film, appropriately titled UNACCUSTOMED AS WE ARE. We also hear Mae Busch, Edgar Kennedy and Thelma Todd! We will also screen one of the all time greats of their early sound films, MEN O' WAR. Sailors on leave, Stanley & Oliver meet a couple of cuties in the park and take them to the ice cream fountain of cantankerous James Finlayson! As if this laugh-packed program were not enough, our special guest Bob Wright, will bring his full color home movies of his visit with Stan Laurel and narrate it all for us!!! Throw in a cartoon, some delicious Keeley Treats and "wa la" - you will all be "talking" about this meeting for years to come!
