The SAPS present: 2nd Annual World War 2 Night!WHAT: SAPS AT SEA TENT EVENT We tried a little experiment last year and presented a World War themed night. It was such a success, we are doing it again, with an ALL NEW program of filmic treats! We will screen a Saps' first. Stan and Ollie must travel to Washington with a new experimental Bomb. And the laughter will be explosive! We proudly present THE BIG NOISE. Full of great gags and one of Stan and Ollie's best WW2 era films! Our guest comedian short is the funtastic, ALL STAR BOND RALLY. Hosted by Bob Hope and containing so many great stars, revealing them here would spoil the fun! We will also show a hand picked Laurel & Hardy short, not screened in several years! The icing on the film cake will be the cartoon, YOU'RE A SAP, MR. JAP. If easily offended, remember we were at War! Russ has agreed to bring along some vintage records that played to our Armed Forces as well! We invite attendees to bring their own World War memorabilia. What could possibly be as terrific as our 30Th ANNIVERSARY event? This event! See ya there, From under my FezBy John Field, Grand Sheik I'm still smiling just thinking about our 30th anniversary gathering! Close to 80 Saps attended. We met Bob Wright who graciously shared his memories of Stan. We consumed ice cream and a terrific Laurel & Hardy photo cake provided by the ever enjoyable culinary team of Tom & Peg Keeley. We were introduced to the new film comedy team of Peck and Field (I prefer Field & Peck) but either way, those guys were funny! A special thanks to Russ for finding black and white film and providing the 1929 camera to use with it! We screened a beauty of a print of our namesake, SAPS AT SEA and many more visual treats. And last but not least, our former Grand Sheik, Rick Greene, even showed up! Thanks to all for your continuing support & help in making this the best tent ever!
