Video Treasures began selling Laurel and
Hardy videos in the early '90s. They initially released two,
5-tape sets, containing feature films and collections of
short films. They were distinct in that they all contained
rare home movie footage at the start of each tape.
Unfortunately, these tapes were released in the inferior LP
mode, which reduced their picture quality (although a very
limited quantity were produced and sold in SP mode). Later
on, all tapes were released in EP mode. Several additional
features were subsequently released before the company
changed its name and stopped selling classic
films.
