Edgar Kennedy: Master of the Slow Burn

Edgar Livingston Kennedy appeared in over 500 films between the years of 1911 and 19491. As an actor, he appeared with such greats as Laurel & Hardy, Charlie Chase, and Charlie Chaplin. He was one of the original Keystone Cops while working for Mack Sennett.

He is called the master of the slow burn, because of his masterful way of dealing with a stressful situation; first he was cool and collected, slowly building up to that explosive boiling point.

This site is dedicated to his career and to his memory. The menu to the left contains links to other Edgar Kennedy pages in this site. We have assembled an extensive filmography and uncovered some rare facts about this man.

This site is a tribute to the work of Tony Hawes. Tony was essential in the creation of this site. The filmography and fact pages were based entirely on his research. He was also responsible for the terrific Edgar Kennedy "slow burn" caricature at the top of the page. He will truly be missed.
